Tonight will tell whether Illinois residents are ready for a real change or just going with the status quo in today’s state primary.

There were election watch parties galore where voters can watch their favorite candidates sweat out the results and score some free food. The bars will probably be cash only, so bring money. All parties start when the polls close at 7 p.m.

State Sen. Heather Steans (7th Senate District) and supporters will convene at Edgewater’s St. Andrew’s Inn at 5938 N. Broadway.

Jim Madigan (7th Senate District) and supporters will be at The Call, 1547 N. Bryn Mawr, in Andersonville.

Toni Preckwinkle (Cook County Board President) will be partying down at the Holiday Inn (Chicago Mart Plaza), Wolf Point Ballroom, 15th Floor, 350 N. Orleans St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Terry O’Brien (Cook County Board President) will be at International Union of Operating Engineers Local 399 Hall, 226- S. Grove Ave. 

Green Party candidate Matt Reichel (5th District, Congress) with candidates Jeff Adams (1st District, Congress), Tom Tresser (Cook County Board President), Scott Summers (State Treasurer) and others at  O’Shaunessy’s Public House, 4557 N. Ravenswood.

The 32nd Ward Democratic Committee will be throwing a bash for John Frtichey (Democrat, Cook County Board of Commissioners) at the Riverview Tavern in Roscoe Village, 1958 W. Roscoe.
