The Cook County State’s Attorney charged two men for allegedly beating a 67-year-old man at a North Side gym that left him seriously injured.
Charged with two counts each of aggravated battery are Paul J. Velez, 29, of Cicero, Ill., and Todd J. Krasnow, 33, of Lowell, Ind.
According to the complaint, Velez and Krasnow repeatedly punched and kicked the victim at World Gym at 909 W. Montrose in the early morning hours of Nov. 9. All were patrons of the gym.
Velez was arrested at his residence on Nov. 19 by the Chicago Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Krasnow turned himself into police later that same day. Both were identified in a police line-up by the victim.
Velez and Krasnow were scheduled to appear in bond court on Saturday, Nov. 21.
