St. Philip Lutheran School threw a good, old fashioned fun fair in the school’s parking lot on Saturday. There were games, cotton candy and pony rides for kids. Some school moms told us the goal wasn’t to raise money, just hold a bash for the community before school starts up again in two weeks. St. Philip has been serving the Edgewater for over 70 years. Located at 2500 W. Bryn Mawr, the PreK-8 school offers a full day pre-school, full-day kindergarten, foreign language classes, after school clubs, sports programs, state-of-the-art technology and music enrichments classes for all grades. Extended before and after school care is also available. St. Philip has approximately 200 students and is still accepting enrollments. The new school year starts on Aug. 24.
